The Teenage Feminist 

Growing up, pretty much every child has been exposed to Barbie. You owned the doll, or watched the show(s), maybe even had a Barbie dollhouse and the hot pink convertible. She's been slapped onto everything from picture books to body spray. But is she a feminist role model, or sexism hidden behind pink glitter?

Is feminism still necessary? Exploring how it started, how it's going and real world stories.

The Bechdel test is a simple tool to see if a movie has good female representation or not. It checks if a movie meets 3 basic criteria. 1.It must have two named female characters 2. The female characters must have a conversation 3. The conversation must be about something other than a man Apparently, if a movie follows these three rules, it has good female representation. But do we really ned it? Does it always work?
